This site, jakedickerson.com, is owned and operated by Jake Dickerson. By browsing it, using anything on it, or contacting me through it, you accept these terms. If you do not, stop using the site.

1. Using This Site

You may use this site for lawful purposes only. Do not:

  • Attempt to access systems, accounts, or files you have not been given access to

  • Upload, transmit, or link to malicious code or harmful material

  • Scrape, mirror, republish, or resell anything on this site

  • Use this site or its contents to train machine learning models without my written permission

I may restrict or block access at any time if I believe the site is being misused.

2. Ownership of Content

Everything published here is my property unless credited otherwise. This includes written copy, photographs, renderings, drawings, diagrams, source code, layouts, and project documentation.

Nothing on this site transfers ownership or grants a license to use it. Do not reproduce or redistribute any of it without written permission. Linking to a page is fine. Reposting the contents of a page is not.

3. Work Shown Here

Some projects on this site were produced during employment or under contract. Rights in that work belong to the client or employer, and it appears here for reference only. Nothing shown here is offered for sale, license, or reuse.

Concepts, prototypes, and speculative projects are shown as documentation of my own process. They are not products, they are not available for purchase, and no claim is made that they are manufacturable, safe, tested, or approved for any use.

4. Inquiries and Unsolicited Ideas

Messages sent to me through this site do not create a client relationship, a contract, or any confidentiality obligation, and they are not covered by an NDA unless one is signed first. Do not send confidential material, trade secrets, or unpublished invention disclosures through this site.

If you send me an unsolicited concept, suggestion, or idea, I am free to use, develop, or disregard it without compensation or credit. I work in product design and may already be developing something similar or identical on my own or for an employer. Sending me something does not give you a claim to anything I make afterward.

Any actual engagement would be covered by a separate signed agreement.

5. No Warranty and No Advice

This site is provided as is. I make no guarantee that it is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available.

Nothing here is professional advice of any kind, including engineering, safety, manufacturing, regulatory, patent, or legal advice. Verify anything independently before relying on it.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss, damage, or cost arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here, including indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Use of this site is at your own risk.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to one hundred dollars.

7. Third-Party Links and Embeds

This site links to and may embed services I do not control, including hosting, analytics, fonts, video, and social platforms. I am not responsible for their content, availability, or data practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

8. Privacy

This site may collect basic analytics such as page views, referring pages, browser type, and approximate location. If you contact me, I keep your message and contact details in order to reply. I do not sell personal information. Third-party services used to run this site may collect data under their own policies.

9. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, email me with the URL, a description of the work, and your contact details, and I will review and remove anything infringing.

10. Changes

These terms may change. The version posted here, with the date at the top, is the one in effect. Continuing to use the site means you accept it.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah County, Utah.
